Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth
and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Nothing is forever, kitty.

It's funny how we're constantly piling up all sorts of cups, no? Piling and piling and piling and piling. Cups on cups on cups on cups.

Take a good long look at the image on the Eight of Cups. Look at the mournfully downcast look on the moon's face, look at the cups stacked so nice, so purposefully behind the figure who's decided to walk away from them. What do you think they're thinking about? What do you think the look on their face would tell us if we could see it? But most importantly: where do you think they're headed, and why are they leaving all their lovely cups behind?

If you were somehow forced to leave everything behind and start out on a new path, a new career, a new home base, a new set of priorities, how would you feel?

When we FaceTimed one another to pull cards for this month's tarot reading for you, our sweet, lovely, readers, and to talk about the feeling in our hearts towards the coming month, we were met with the message of the Eight of Cups and forced to reflect on what sort of cups we've been stacking up.

When we spend our time stacking up our metaphorical cups - whether in the form of money, or knowledge, or clothing, or books, or hours spent on netflix/video games/candy crush, or electronics, or sneakers, or data, or literally anything that can be accumulated in the material realm - what are we hoping to accomplish? What meets us at the top of a tower made of cups?

The Path! The Path! Where are you on The Path? And, what sort of cups have you been laying nicely one on top of the other?

If you’re lying to everyone you know, including yourself, at every possible turn, is a little upheaval really the worst that could happen to your life right now?

The Tower is an exciting image of a rumble tumble upheaval!

Where the Eight of Cups sets us on a journey to seek deeper meaning in our actions, reactions, thoughts and patterns, the Tower card forces it on us.

What have you been avoiding, kitty?

Are you happy with your job? Your relationships? Your body? Mind? Soul?

Big questions, with big answers.

Ultimately we could always use some switching up of patterns, but this month we're talking big, seismic shifts: a deep humbling of sorts, a flash of Truth that changes everything.

While you reflect on the deep part of yourself that pulses with awkward resistance when you think about walking away from your big pile of cups, we'll go first with our thoughts.

I have been burying myself in client work, which is rewarding and fulfilling, and brings me wonderful feelings of pride in a job well done, new skills, and the ability to live on my own by the beach in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. However, when I really reflect on that mushy part of myself that heats up when I consider the prospect of upheaval, I know in my heart that I've been avoiding my creative pursuits (my novel, this blog, personal development beyond the narrow facet of entrepreneurship) using the excuse that making money is quite nice, no? Helping my clients sell tens of thousand of books, while my own novel lies in wait in a much neglected folder on my desktop, sad and alone, is a heart-wrenching thought. One that I don't like admitting to myself, let alone the readers of this blog (thanks, as usual, for listening). But admit I must because The Universe is a kind and caring kitty-mama who loves to whisper sweet nothings in our ear about how easy and wonderful and nice it is to first admit to, then let go of, then continue moving forward. For April I look forward to a complete upheaval of my priorities in a more creative direction.

On Nicole's end, she has been painting up a neon storm of gorgeousness, happy as a clam in her ocean-facing apartment in Palm Beach, working on a new series. Reflecting on the pile of paintings she's been stacking up on the walls and in the corners of a steadily shrinking studio, she's trying to keep the creeping thoughts of monetizing out her mind and paint stroke. Keeping a clear heart when it comes to making Art is just as important as the making itself. Having thoughts of needing to sell prints, or land new commissions, or make the absolute best work of your life are important thoughts, but not helpful when doing the actual creating.

And now that it's all out in the open, it's time to look forward to the Tower shaking action we'll be doing this month and beyond.

the Hustle is sold separately

What now?

As we consider what we need to shift this month, and what all that Tower energy gives permission (read: forces) for us to change, what do you feel this month is going to bring?

We hope that you'll take the time to examine your pile of cups, knowing in your heart that there's an endless supply of cups bubbling up from the eternal fountain of Universe energy, and you are more than equipped to move forward without the ones you've been so attached to! We're right here with you, and we couldn't be more excited to see what April 2018 has in store for all of us.
