JANUARY 2018 TAROT READING: FOUR OF WANDS & TEN OF PENTACLES
The new year is cause for celebration!
2017, what a year, no? If you haven't been replaying the highs and the lows in your mind over the past few days/weeks in preparation for facing the new year, how about taking a moment now to dive into that rabbit hole?
Phew! What a year! Visions of embarrassing mess-ups and toe curling love and maybe-shoulda-notta love and fantastic achievements have been snaking their way across our mind's eye. Can't have the highs without the lows, right? Sometimes we have to remind ourselves of this fact in the hopes of softening the heavy blow of failure, or humbling the über-high of achievement.
We pulled an interesting set of cards to harken in your new year. Cards of celebration, of triumph, prosperity, permanence.
Looking at the Four of Wands, we see a wonderful uplifting scene of pure happiness.
When I flipped this card over, I felt the warmth of the yellow light fill my heart.
This card represents the freedom and joy that comes with achievement and after hard work. Think happy thoughts about a toasty, comfortable, satisfying home environment. Think peaceful, harmonious thoughts about the relationships in your life and the community around you.
This month the focus is on the rewards that are waiting for you once you achieve a big goal(s). Focus on that goal, put in the hard work to get there, and reap the juicy fruits that the Universe has in store for you.
But wait, there's more! The Universe has a double-whammy of good news for your start to 2018.

The Ten of Pentacles is known as the "fat cat" card.
On it, we see a Patriarch sitting in the comfort of his palace, his loyal dogs at his feet, his offspring standing close-by, dressed in heavy, rich robes, a happy child playing close to his mother.
The Ten of Pentacles brings with it a similar message about the blessings to be bestowed upon you for your perseverance and diligence in achieving what you've set out to do.
When you work your entire life to build a Queendom, you get to sit in your castle with a full heart and look out on the fruits of your labour.
When I see this card, I focus on the systems and habits in my life that form the crucial foundation for material success. This card isn't about risk taking or going in a new direction, it's about the tried and true path of hard work and perseverance. It's about bootstrapping when necessary, and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps to get the job done.
One extra layer of consideration: we kittens love to kitten around as often as possible, whether that's in exotic locals, the comfort of our own home, or in the soft cloudy world of our dreams. It comes as a wonderful layer of comfort to know that the Universe has nothing but positive, sunshine-y praise for the beginning of our year. Take this juicy, juicy news and move forward with warmth and love in your heart. The Universe has forgiven you all trespasses, all delays, all set-backs, all vices, and has nothing but love, respect and faith in your abilities to knock this month (and always) out of the park.
